BEDFORD, MA -- The East Coast Wizards head south this afternoon for the second matchup of the season with the Seahawks Hockey Club. Today's game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm puck drop as the Wizards enter with a record of 4-6-0, and Seahawks counter with a mark of 7-4-1.
On Friday, the team will return home in search of revenge, as they battle the first--place Boston Jr. Rangers. The Rangers got the upper-hand earlier this week, picking up a 7-3 victory over the Wizards. The game was locked up at three apiece about midway through the 3rd period, before the Rangers pulled away late.
"We're definitely in a busy stretch right now, and we're learning a lot about who we are as a team," said EHL head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "It doesn't matter who the opponent is in this league, if you don't compete and battle for a full 60 minutes, your chances of winning are not high in this league."
In the first meeting of the season with the Seahawks, the two New England Conference foes remained scoreless at the end of 20 minutes. A handful of goals were scored at the beginning of each of the next two periods, capped off by an empty-net tally late to seal a 4-1 win for the Seahawks.
The Wizards will now try and return the favor with their chance at earning revenge on the road.
