The commits just keep rolling in for the Wizards.
East Coast forward Jake DiNapoli announced Wednesday that he has committed to play hockey at Assumption University, a Division II school located in Worcester, Massachusetts. DiNapoli joins C.J. Boyd (Alvernia) and Joe Idelson (Suffolk) as the third player to announce plans at the college level.
“I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to Assumption University,” DiNapoli said. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and teachers for making me the student athlete I am today. Go Hounds!”
DiNapoli has been a catalyst offensively for East Coast this season, tallying nine goals and six assists over 24 games. He also leads the team in power play goals with three.
“We are really excited for Jake. He has worked extremely hard since arriving with the Wizards early this summer,” Wizards head coach Kory Falite said. “Assumption is gaining a terrific forward and an even better kid.”
The Assumption Greyhounds belong to the Northeast-10 Conference and are one of just seven Division II programs in NCAA men’s ice hockey. The program won the 2019-20 Regular Season Conference Championship and look to defend that title this year after the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
