WEST CHESTER, PA -- Glenn Wiswell and Eric Hildebrand scored back-to-back goals in 1:41, leading the Wizards to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Jr. Flyers. With the win, the series is now tied and goes to a Game 3 later tonight.
"Our guys never stop battling," said Wizards head coach Freddy Meyer. "They don't really care what seed we are, or who we're playing, they just continue to push each other every night. Kory [Falite] and I are very proud of their effort in Game 2."
Game 2 began in very similar fashion to Game 1, with Luke Benitez scoring first the Jr. Flyers, and then Houston Wilson tying the score for the Wizards shortly after that. Both goals came in the 1st period, and that score carried over into the 2nd frame.
In the 2nd period, a tough bounce got by Hunter Chaisson to give the Jr. Flyers the lead again, but from there the Wizards came back with the perfect response. Wiswell and Hildebrand scored from almost the same exact spot in the slot, and the team held on tight to there 3-2 down the stretch and right until the final buzzer.
Chaisson was stellar in net for the Wizards, stopping 47 of the 49 shots he faced between the pipes.
Series tied 1-1.
We will now head to Game 3 with a trip to the Semi-Finals on the line. The puck-drop for the series-deciding matchup is scheduled for tonight at 7:45pm.
