BEDFORD, MA -- The Wizards welcomed the Valley Jr. Warriors to town on Tuesday for the first matchup between the two teams since last year’s First Round of the EHL Playoffs.
After a scoreless 1st period, Josh Loveridge got the boys on the board first with a shot that snuck past Landon Anderson. However, the Warriors would get a goal back before the end of the middle frame to knot up the game with 20 minutes left to play. The score remained 1-1 with just under two minutes left to play, until Devin Panzeca finally beat the Anderson thanks to a nice dish from Matt Fuller. Panzeca would add an empty goal in the final seconds which helped seal the Wizards 3-1 victory. Korbinian Lutz racked up 21 saves in the win and improved his overall record to 11-5-0 on the season.
With the win, the Wizards move to 15-11-0 on the season as they currently sit in 3rd place in the Boston Division and trail the 2nd place Walpole Express by 7 points. Up next for the squad, is a matchup in Bedford on Friday against the Total Athletic Seahawks. The game will mark the 5th time that the two divisional rivals have faced each other this season, with the Wizards winning all of the four previous matchups so far this year.
