EHL Squad Battles Top Team in Home-and-Home Series

BEDFORD, MA -- The Wizards are set to play a home-and-home series tomorrow and Friday against the New Hampshire Avalanche. The key two-game set will kick-off with a matchup in Bedford on Thursday morning, followed by a showdown at the Ice Den in Hooksett, NH on Friday. The Wizards sit sit points behind the 2nd place Walpole Express in the Boston Division with a record of 25-15-2 this season. With just eight games remaining in the regular season, the Wizards also find themselves in 4th place in the North Conference. The Avalanche on the other hand, have the North Conference’s best record with 69 points to their name, but they have lost three out of their last four games.

"These are two big ones for the boys," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "I obviously wouldn't call them must-win games, but we are starting to get the players in that playoff mode. The intensity is picking up every day in practice, and we want to make sure we hit the postseason in stride."

The games this week will make the final time that the two opponents will face-off against each other in the regular season. The Avalanche have won the first two matchups by scores of 5-0 and 6-4. Thursday’s game is scheduled for a 10:30am at The Edge Sports Center, followed by a Noon puck drop on Friday.
