BEDFORD, MA -- The Wizard’s top line consisting of Devin Panzeca, Dylan Schuett, and Trent Pitser has been a big part of the team’s success this season. The three forwards are ranked one, two, and three on the Wizards in scoring with a combined total of 160 points to date. Panzeca is currently on pace to break the highest points per game average in EHL history with 77 points in just 37 games for the Wizards. The '97 will be a strong candidate for the EHL’s Most Valuable Player Award this year as he is currently 2nd in scoring across the entire EHL. The native of Illinois gives a lot of the credit to his linemates.
“Playing with Schuett and Pitser has helped add speed to my game as both players love to wheel up and down the ice and make it easier to get time and space," said Panzeca. "It is also great playing with players that I trust can finish when I give them the puck around the net. Even though they are both a few years younger then me, they play with maturity and patience."
Just like Panzeca, Schuett is also currently riding his own 16-game point streak and has collected an even 26 goals and 26 assists so far this season. The 2000 born forward has performed well in his first year of junior hockey, and the Canadian forward gives plenty of credit to the men he lines up with.
“Playing with Panzeca and Pitser in a league which, for the most part, consists of players 2-3 years older than me, has helped me grow substantially as a player on and off the ice,” said Schuett. "Pitser battles hard in the dirty areas of the ice and makes it easy as a center to support him. Face-offs are an aspect of my game that I take very seriously and having a strong and focused set of wingers has really helped out in those situations. We’ve gotten to the point where we can execute set face-off plays multiple time per game and quite often capitalize on them. I think we have bonded really well as linemates, which has made my first year of junior hockey much easier than I expected. I can honestly say I wouldn't be in the same spot I am now and succeeding this much, without linemates like Panzeca and Pitser.”
Pitser joined the line just after the Christmas break and has fit in seamlessly. With 31 total points for the season, the '99 is simply having fun playing along side two of the top scorers in the league.
“These guys are so fun to play with and their work ethics have made it so inspiring to be around'" said Pitser. “I definitely want these guys to do the best that they can and exceed their expectations as I would do anything I can to help them, just like I know they would do the same for me.”
The top line of the Wizards will look to finish the regular season strong and take the momentum into the playoffs with just six games remaining.
