BEDFORD, MA -- The Wizards will travel to the Breakaway Ice Center on Wednesday to cap off their regular season series with the Boston Jr. Rangers. The boys are 3-2-0 against the 1st place Rangers this year and won the last matchup between the two teams at the end of January by a 4-2 score. Going into Wednesday’s game, the Wizards sit in 3rd place in the Boston Division (4th in the North Conference) with a 26-17-2 record and five regular season games remaining. The Wizards have officially locked in the 4th seed and will be facing the #5 Vermont Lumberjacks in the First Round of the playoffs.
The Rangers on the other hand, sit in 1st place in the Boston Division with 71 points and are fresh off a weekend sweep of the Lumberjacks. Wednesday’s game is scheduled for a 12:00pm puck drop in Tewksbury, a place where the Wizards have already won twice this season.
"It's nice knowing what exactly lies ahead," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "We are excited to take on the Lumberjacks in the First Round, but we have a lot of work to do before then. The goal is to head into that series playing the best hockey that we've played all season long. This starts with today's game against the Rangers."
