BEDFORD, MA -- The East Coast Wizards are pleased to announce that Devin Panzeca has committed to SUNY Potsdam for the Fall of 2018. In his first season in the EHL, the '97 forward from Lake Zurich, IL racked up 99 points in 47 total games.
"Devin is a very talented hockey player," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "He got better and better as the year went on with us, and he is going to be incredibly difficult to replace. I am confident that Devin will only continue to develop when he gets to Potsdam. He's got a true scoring touch, and I can't wait to follow him throughout his collegiate career."
After joining the Wizards in early October, Panzeca went on to put together one of the best regular season campaigns in the history of the EHL. Panzeca leaves behind a new EHL record for points per game average, as his 2.16 mark is at the top of the record books. It's been a great journey for the scorer, and he took some time to give his thanks.
"My time with the Wizards helped me mature on and off the ice," said Panzeca. "Having great coaching on the ice with Freddy and Kory helped expand my game and then working with Adrian off the ice really helped round everything into shape. I would like to thank my parents for all they have sacrificed for me to be able to follow my dream of playing college hockey. I owe them everything."
