LACONIA, NH -- The East Coast Wizards hit the road for Merrill Fay Arena, and the 2018-19 season opener against the New England Wolves. This afternoon's matchup is scheduled for a 1:45pm puck drop, and if you're not making the trip to New Hampshire, you can catch the game live on HockeyTV.
"The boys are definitely excited to get started," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "There's always a different feel once the games actual count towards the standings. We've got a confident group, and even they we had some pretty good success against the Wolves last season, the team knows that it's a fresh season and it's time to bring it."
As Meyer mentioned, the Wizards played well when they were matched up against the Wolves last season, posting a 3-1-0 record in 4 meetings. After dropping the first matchup by the score of 5-3, the Wizards won the next 3 contests, all while outscoring their conference opponent by a wide margin of 16-3.
As the saying goes, 'that was then, and this is now', as the Wizards and Wolves hit the ice today and then again next Friday, for their only two regular season matchups of the year.
