HAVERHILL, MA -- The East Coast Wizards return to the ice this afternoon at 12:00pm, for a New England Conference matchup with the Valley Jr. Warriors. This is the first of just 2 meetings between the teams this season, as the Warriors will come to Bedford, MA on January 9th. As for today's game, the Wizards come into this one having won 4 of their last 5, which has helped them to an overall record of 4-2-0 for the season. On the flip side, the Warriors just earned 3 of a possible 4 points at the Walpole Showcase, and they come into this game with a mark of 2-3-1 for the year.
"This is our only game of the weekend, so we need to make it count," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "We've got 5 days off after this, and then we play a pair of tough opponents. It would be great to get back into the win column with a victory today."
As Meyer mentioned, the Wizards are set to take on the RoughRiders and Rangers next weekend, a pair of teams that each won their respective division this past season. It's safe to say the mission is simply to get the 2 points this afternoon.
If you can't make it Haverhill for the game, you can catch the action live on HockeyTV. Also, be sure to follow the Wizards on Twitter, for updates throughout today's matchup.
