NEWINGTON, CT -- The East Coast Wizards return to the ice this afternoon at 2:00pm, for a divisional showdown with the Connecticut Chiefs. This is the 1st meeting in franchise history between the 2 teams, as the Wizards look to snap their 3-game losing streak. Entering this one, the Wizards own a record of 8-6-1, which is good for 3rd place in their division and 5th place overall in the New England Conference. With the November Showcase coming up this weekend, picking up 2 points this afternoon would be huge for the Wizards.
"The boys are excited to get back out there," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "We obviously had a very frustrating trip to Philly, and now we get a chance to turn back that momentum. The Chiefs have a few scorers that we need to keep an eye on in this game."
As Meyer mentioned, the Chiefs top line is a group to watch in this afternoon's matchup. Circling in on Kyle McEnany in particular, the reigning Forward of the Week in the EHL is coming off a game where he had a role in 5 of his team's 6 goals, finding the back of the net 4 times and dishing out an assist.
If you can't make it to Newington for the game, you can catch the action live on HockeyTV. Also, be sure to follow the Wizards on Twitter, for updates throughout today's matchup.
The 2018-19 season can best be described as 'streaky' so far, as the Wizards have followed up a loss in the season opener with 4 straight wins, 3 straight losses, 4 straight wins, and currently, 3 straight losses.
