DENNIS, MA -- The East Coast Wizards hit the ice at 10:40am this morning, for their final game of the first half of the season. Today's matchup with the Seahawks Hockey Club is the third meeting of the year, as the two teams have split the first two contests. Each team won on their respective home ice, as the Seahawks skated to a 7-0 victory on November 28th, and then the Wizards turned the tables with a 4-2 win on December 6th. Following today's game, the Wizards and Seahawks will face-off two more times, with both the February 14th and March 2nd matchups set to take place in the friendly confines of The Edge Sports Center.
"This is a big game for us today," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "It's obviously not make or break in terms of the playoffs, but it would be nice to take a little winning streak with us into the holiday break."
Excluding the exhibition loss to the guest team at the December Showcase, the Wizards have won three straight games, dating back to the most recent matchup with the Seahawks. As Meyer mentioned, the momentum of win today would be huge heading into the holiday break.
